Professional Experience

Richard was admitted to practice in 2000. Richard's professional experience includes service with Messrs. Lex Caribbean (Associate Attorney), the Urban Development Corporation of Trinidad and Tobago Limited (Head Legal/Corporate Secretary), and private practice in Chambers.

Richard has acquired a broad experience in the legal practice in Trinidad and Tobago with specialized experience in Civil Litigation, Corporate Commercial Law and Construction Law. In relation to Civil Litigation he has instructed Counsel before the High Court, Court of Appeal and in high value Arbitrations. These include the various areas of dispute resolution relating to commercial, construction, debt collection, medical negligence, and personal injury. In relation to Corporate/Commercial Law Richard has worked extensively with the banking sector from both a litigation and commercial perspective including conveyancing transactions. Additionally, Richard has worked on high value local infrastructural projects, financial transactions and commercial transactions within the State and Private sectors.

Aside from his professional legal qualifications Richard is also the holder of a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) from the University of the West Indies.

Richard is a former Board Member of the Trinidad and Tobago Racing Authority and the Arima Race Club.
